Wall restore can provide the small developer and self builder with as much or as little of the 'heavy side' building work as is required

The project can be taken from over-site strip to first fix

or any single part of the building's structure to suit your requirements.

Labour constitute a large part of any building budget; therefore we aim to make the best use of labour saving materials and methods to reduce build times without compromising quality. These may include trench fill foundations, footing blocks, beam & block floors, engineered joists, acrylic renders and thin joint masonry.

For those wanting a traditional facade, modern internal materials can make a project viable by reducing the build cost.

Thin-joint with traditional materials

Thin-joint block work has been used with great success in conjunction with traditional materials.

Standard block walls used internally for new builds have steel ties built into them as work progresses at distances to suit the metric brick thickness. Old traditional facing materials do not have metric dimensions. This invariably leads to a mismatch in the hight of the bed in the opposing face work. Leading to bending and stretching of ties and ties not properly installed. Thin-joint block work is built independently of the external face with ties installed to suit the face work after the block work is complete. Ensuring fully bedded horizontal ties at the correct spacings.

Thin-joint block work is built prior to the external leaf enabling the roof to go on before the external masonry is complete. This means the outer leaf can be built without delaying the internal trades. (A big advantage when you consider traditional materials take longer to lay)

"Newcomers to these systems can be caught out initially, by failing to appreciate the speed at which construction advances. For instance it has been known for a first time user of Thin-joint mortar systems to reach a level where scaffolding is required several days earlier than expected"MORE>

Extensions

Many projects involve refurbishing and extending period property or farm buildings.

For the extension to look correct and not an afterthought requires care and a good eye for detail. Time taken studying the original work methods and materials ensures a successfull extension that will look of the same period.
